Jane Kennedy Mitchell
Jane brings creative zeal and over 25 years of communications experience to her clients as an independent editor. Her expertise includes writing and reports, proposals, resumes, newsletters, articles, books, manuals, advertisements, and web content. She applies her knowledge and skills to writing top-notch persuasive web content, and editing fiction and nonfiction books.
Jane's personal mission is to inspire creative and healthy transformation in each us. She has shared ideas for positive change through books, papers, proposals, posts, and PR writing. Now she especially enjoys editing books on spirituality, philosophy, and wellness. She also likes writing profiles to promote artists, musicians, and other creative folks.
After graduating with Honors in Philosophy from Bryn Mawr College, Jane worked as a book editor and columnist for The Chronicle of Higher Education in Washington, D.C
Following a stint working in public relations and government research for national associations, she launched a career as a freelance PR and magazine writer. She then studied creative writing and journalism at George Mason University while writing grants and teaching at a school for pregnant teenagers.
Jane took a graduate class in grammar when she was completing a Master of Teaching in English at Virginia Commonwealth University. She has taught writing and other subjects in private and public alternative schools and as a tutor She currently tutors English as a Second Language as a volunteer for Church World Services in Richmond.
Jane nurtures her own creative spirit as a recorder and concertina player. She currently is working on a book of poetry and reads at local poetry slams.
